Why did I get into Mental Health and well-being?

Hi, I’m Victoria from the North West. For 10 years we provided First Aid and Health & Safety training in the workplace, supported companies with their once complex risk assessments creating easy and understanding checks.

After a life changing challenge back in 2013 and overcoming the emotional distress that came with this, I have now dedicated my life’s work to help others in the workplace to find and maintain healthier coping strategies.

With the goal of creating work and home to be a happy place.

Why is mental health and well-being such a hot topic?

The figures speak for themselves concerning work-related stress, depression or anxiety in Great Britain.

  • 828,000 workers (a prevalence of 2,440 per 100,000 workers) suffered from work-related stress, depression or new or long-standing anxiety in 2019/2020

  • £17.9 million working days were lost due to work-related stress, depression or anxiety in 2019/2020

  • An average 21.6 working days were lost per case.

  • In 2019/2020 stress, depression or anxiety accounted for 51% of all work-related ill health cases, and 55% of all working days lost.

These figure are going up every year.

The Stevenson/Farmer review, thriving at work October 2017, concluded that the UK faces a significant mental health challenge. An estimated 1 in 4 individuals are likely to experience mental ill-health at some point in their lives. Across the UK companies and institutions are focusing these recommendations implementing the six core mental health standards.
